                                           Earlier today, a supposed cousin-in-law to former Big Brother Naija housemate, Gifty, shared photos reportedly taken at her wedding. She revealed that Gifty who claims to be single, actually wed a man named David Sorochukwu Akumah in 2014. (Read the post here ) Gifty has however reacted in a post via her Instagram page after the photos hit the internet. She wrote:

                      Former CBN governor, Charles Soludo, Pat Utomi and other prominent Ibo men today paid a visit to Kuje prison Abuja where they met and interacted with detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu and some of his members.  After the meeting, Soludo on behalf of the other delegates addressed a press conference at Chelsea hotel Abuja  where they demanded for the urgent release of Kanu and his other members.  Kanu was arrested by DSS officials in October last year and is being tried fro treasonable offences.

                  41 Nigerian women, some of them in their 20s, who are victims of Human trafficking, returned to Nigeria from Mali, yesterday February 27th. They were received by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Diaspora Matters, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, along with officials of the National Agency for Protection and Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and other government officials.  The women arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos in an aircraft belonging to the Nigeria Air Force.

Despite the fact that the baby obviously looks mixed and that the woman may have been doing more than cleaning and cooking for her former boss, the young couple are very much happy and have thanked God for blessing them with a beautiful baby boy.

              All passengers of a Jetta car including two corps members have lost their lives in an accident which occurred today along Mountain of Fire camp ground along Warri/Sapele road, Delta state.  According to reports, the accident occurred after a jeep going at a high speed veered off it's lane and collided with the Jetta car.                               A 22-year-old Ohio woman, Deasia Watkins was sentenced this week to 15 years to life in prison after admitting before a Hamilton County, Ohio, judge on Thursday, that she decapitated her 3-month-old daughter. Watkins pleaded guilty to one count of murder in the 2015 death of her 3 month old infant daughter, Jayniah. Watkins fractured the girl’s arm before stabbing her repeatedly and then beheaded the poor child in March 2015, court records show. The child had reportedly been placed with Watkins’ aunt due to her erratic behavior previously.

                  State-run Xinhua news agency is reporting that at least 10 people died when a four-story hotel in Nanchang, southeastern China went up in flames early this morning. Firefighters found seven bodies in the blaze debris. Three of the 16 people hospitalized died despite receiving medical attention following the fire, the news agency said.

              A member of the Lagos state House of Assembly, Segun Olulade, has called on the Federal government to direct the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission NBC to stop airing the reality TV show, Big Brother Nigeria. In a statement released today, Chairman, Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Health Services, Olulade, said the show is not in anyway promoting African values. According to him, the content of the show is aline to the values and culture of Nigeria. His statement in part reads;

                The Oyo state police command have arrested a motorcycle rider, Tosin Oluwatosin, pictured above, who was found with a human head at Ifaki-Ekiti in Ekiti state. According to reports, Tosin had picked up the boy with his motorcycle and was to drop him off at home. He however made a detour, took him to a house where the boy was beheaded.
